Short Row Exploration is the first class she will be teaching and will run from 9:30am until 1:30pm.
Since opening the store, I have found that short rows tend to cause confusion and even a bit of fear in knitters. They are used to create wedges in your knitting that are important for shaping everything from bust darts to ear flaps. In this class Miriam will cover Wrap & Turn short rows, Japanese short rows, the Yarnover method, Shadow Wraps (aka Mother-Daughter Short Rows), and German Short Rows. Each type of short row has its pros and cons and Miriam will discuss the best method for a particular type of project. Students must be able to knit and purl, cast on, bind off, increase and decrease. Having done any kind of short rows is helpful.
