We are open! You can shop online or come by for curbside pickup.

Wow, it has been a very interesting couple of weeks! Luckily our store family is healthy and has even expanded as Deanna had a baby girl! Hopefully all of you are well and as happy as can be.

The store is still open although limited to our "office hours" for curbside pickup and new project consultation. And even more exciting, we now have an online store which is available 24/7! We ship packages daily and can also deliver in Park City. I'm hoping Susan will be back very soon for help sessions.

New Store Hours (for curbside pickup):

Sunday and Monday - Closed

Tuesday through Friday - 1 to 5pm

Saturday - 10am to 2pm

A very heartfelt thank you to everyone for supporting the store during this crazy time. I've received encouragement and wonderful suggestions (which I'm working on) to keep the store moving forward and our knitting community intact while keeping our social distance.

As I mentioned in my last email, several of our wholesale partners have stepped up to help their local yarn store friends across the country. Brooklyn Tweed has been wonderful to work with, and their yarn is already up on our website.

The hat shown above is First Cables Hat by Jared Flood. Cables are a very fun, high impact and not difficult knitting technique.  If you are looking to try something new or just want to start holiday knitting, this is the perfect project. The pattern includes resources for learning how to cable, and there is a companion pattern that offers modifications and different designs. You can purchase the yarn on our website from the "Shop" tab. Arbor and all yarns from Brooklyn Tweed are currently 30% off thanks to Brooklyn Tweed’s Apart Together program to support local yarn stores. If you purchase a skein from us, we can send you the pattern and its companion for free.

We carry Arbor, Loft, Peerie, Quarry, Shelter and Vale. If we don't have the particular colorway you love beyond all others in stock, you can purchase it from Brooklyn Tweed at full price and they will still honor the amount of credit. (But wouldn't it be more fun to purchase something from our website?)

Jared Flood, Brooklyn Tweed's founder, has designed several of my favorite patterns. Shown above are two in Vale. Rock Island uses only two skeins of yarn. This lovely and romantic shawl has sections of garter good for TV watching and sections of lace for when you need something to focus on. The other pattern is Gully. This fun, light and transitional cowl uses one-color Brioche to create a beautiful fashion accessory.

If you're craving colorwork, Lucerneis a great choice and uses Brooklyn Tweed's Peerie. The photo above shows it in two colors but three and four color options are included in the pattern. Hazelfern would be a beautiful gift and luxurious treat to wear when lounging at home though it also has a strong and durable short-row heel, good for afternoon strolls.

The artwork above was created by Scott LoBaido and placed across from Elmhurst Hospital which is in the midst of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in New York. This brings me to the most important part of this email, an opportunity to thank all of you who are on the frontlines defending us from this awful virus and those who are providing essential services so we can continue on.

To quote NY Yankees catcher, manager, and hall of famer Yogi Berra, "It's Déjà vu all over again." I have decided to close the brick and mortar side of Wasatch and Wool on January 29th for an extended
